- Hello, I’m Dr. Christal Strickland, an educator and instructional designer of online courses with best practices built in.
- I work with independent creators who want to teach digital courses online. The main thing you need to have is a useful skill or specialized knowledge that would benefit the world.
- And you may or may not have a background in teaching, and that is fine because that is not requirement for sharing your expertise in a meaningful way.
- As your consultant, I will help you to combine your knowledge with best in practice course structure as I hold a valuable skill set that differs from subject matter and craft expertise itself. I specialize in organizing the learning architecture necessary for transferring what you know into a coherent plan that you may apply toward the build out of a digital course.
- I break complex skills and knowledge systems into lessons based on achievable benchmarks. This is where I work with you to deconstruct what it is that you envision people learning and then sequence relevant lesson activities in such a way that builds contextual knowledge and real life competency.
- Through this planning, the architecture of your course gets visually mapped on the front end and serves as a blueprint for you in your online course site build.
- You will gain a map that shows how knowledge and lessons are sequenced, and how they work together for the learning success of those who register for your course.
